One of the most popular SSRI's on the market today is Celexa. This medication was originally created in 1989 by Lundbeck pharmaceutical company, but in 2003 the patent expired allowing other companies to create generic versions. Now the company that distributes Celexa is Forest Laboratories, which is located in Denmark.
The active ingredient of Celexa is Citalopram which is in numerous other generic versions of the medication. As with all medications it is important to follow the proper dosage amount as appointed from your physician. With Celexa that amount is generally in the 20-60mg day range, but this is not always the case with all users. If you are taking other medications or herbal remedies its important to let your doctor know to avoid any potential interactions between drugs.
